Weekly Response Guide

You post your weekly response on the blog in response to a writing prompt — perhaps something imaginative, a piece of news, or a quote on writing and life. Your response is for marks and should be something that is crafted thoughtfully. You do not need to reflect your personal opinion if you don’t want to — remember, writers can inhabit a persona, sometimes using satire or humour to make a point.

The response will be evaluated each week out of 10 marks, as follows:

-Responds fully to the prompt. (3 points)

-Shows evidence of original thought. (3 points)

-Is written in sentence form, showing proper spelling and grammar conventions, unless permitted otherwise by instructor. (2 points)

-Is submitted on time, by the Friday deadline at 3 p.m. (2 points)
